0-1 Years

Toys and essentials for babies aged 0-1. In the first year, a baby learns through the senses — touching, mouthing, and listening — so developmental toys for this age are made exactly for touching and chewing. A newborn sees black and white best, and from about 30 centimeters away, so high-contrast baby cards and a play mat are the best choice at first. From the fourth month, the baby starts grabbing and putting everything in their mouth: that's when teethers, rattles, and soft silicone baby toys come into play. A good rule of thumb is that anything that fits inside a toilet paper roll is too small for this age.
