Placemats

A placemat keeps a child's eating spot clean and gives them their own set place at the table. A silicone placemat stays put, doesn't slip, and doesn't break if dropped on the floor, and a quick rinse is enough after eating. A placemat helps most once a child starts eating on their own, since that's exactly when a lot of the food ends up on the table instead of in their mouth. The mat catches crumbs and drips, so the table doesn't need wiping down every time. When choosing, look for three things: the mat should fit under the child's plate and cup, the material should be food-grade silicone, and suction cups should keep the mat in place on the table.
